VOLUNTARY DRAIN COVER RECALL

Effective immediately, Custom Molded Products (CMP), in cooperation with other manufacturers and the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), is issuing a voluntary recall on certain pool and in-ground spa drain covers manufactured or distributed after December 19, 2008. The subject pool and in-ground spa drain covers were determined by the CPSC to have been incorrectly rated for protection against body entrapment by independent third party laboratories.

CMP has not received any reports of injuries related to any drain covers subject to the recall. Other pool and in-ground spa drain cover manufacturers are also participating in this voluntary recall and will provide separate notices for their products.

Consumers will not incur costs for reasonable replacement/retrofit of recalled drain covers that are installed in accordance with CMP's instructions. Most CMP drain covers state "For Multiple Drain Use Only." If a CMP drain cover was improperly installed in a pool with a single drain system, the builder of the pool is responsible for service charges to replace the incorrectly installed cover.

For covers that were installed in accordance with CMP's instructions, Pool Owners must register with CMP, and, where applicable, have the service performed by CMP's authorized service provider, in order to avoid incurring costs for the replacement or retrofit of recalled covers.

In order to receive reimbursement from CMP for installation of an approved retrofit or replacement drain cover, Pool Installers will be required to submit a Recall Verification Form, the removed recalled cover, and a detailed invoice, to CMP. CMP will only reimburse reasonable service charges.
