Pool Product Line Manager
Job Summary: Manages the new product development pipeline as well as the product life cycle for the Pool industry. Works closely with Sales and Engineering to translate market needs into new or modified products, marketing collateral and sales tools.
Essential Functions:
- Collaborates closely with Pool Sales team to develop a short and long term product development strategy
- Understands, articulates, and captures customer and market challenges (VOC) and then translates them into market requirements for product management
- Develops commercial specifications for new projects
- Responsible for creation of business cases to justify new Pool NPI projects and product enhancements
- Creates Market and Product Analytics such as:
- Identifying market opportunities
- Calculating market size
- Calculating competitive market share
- Understanding market level pricing and specifically value pricing
- Understanding competitive strengths and weaknesses
- Works with the CMP Marcomm team to create sales tools and marketing collateral
- Reviews and reports revenue, margin, fill rates and quality metrics on a monthly basis
- Maintains Pool Product Hierarchy
- Manages Gate 0 and Gate 1 Process including project prioritization
- Creates and submits forecasts for all NPI launches
- Tracks NPI sales for 3 years to ensure sales assumptions are met
- Responsible for identifying market trends, consumer insights, growth opportunities and product trends in the Pool industry
- Responsible for creating communication strategies for new product launches
- Creates and maintains a product rationalization plan
