[INFOGRAPHIC] Why Use AOP on a Pool?

Advanced Oxidation Process (AOP) swimming pool sanitizer systems have improved and lately they’re gaining a lot of traction. AOP technology is poised to lead the charge for the next revolution that is due to the pool and spa industry.

Next Generation AOP products from CMP address many concerns from homeowners and pool professionals. Both want safer, cleaner and clearer pool water, and to reduce overall chemical use. Take a closer look at why you should be installing AOP on swimming pools.

POWERFUL HYDROXYL RADICAL OXIDATION

AOP is a relatively uncomplicated process combining ozone and ultraviolet (UV) lighttwo widely known sanitizer technologies. Combined, they create hydroxyl radicals, said to be the most powerful oxidation agents available for residential pools.

Hydroxyl radicals destroy organic and inorganic contaminants that can make swimmers sick. And they do it really fast compared to traditional feeder-style sanitizers like chlorine.

AOP CREATES CRYSTAL CLEAR POOL WATER

AOP pool sanitizers work like a micro-flocculent by clumping things together, essentially “polishing” the water for a crystal clear look you have to see to believe.

AOP systems also destroy and prevent chloramines—formed when chlorine reacts with sweat or urine—that cause “pool smell” as well as eye and skin irritations, which dramatically increases water clarity and improves the pool experience.

AOP WORKING ALONGSIDE A RESIDUAL REDUCES OVERALL CHEMICAL USE

Water chemistry is no easy task and pool professionals know better than anyone how much work goes into maintaining the water in a pool. Too much chlorine in swimming pools can be problematic and produces harmful byproducts that pose health risks to swimmers. And chlorine alone is slow compared to ozone and UV sanitizer technologies at killing dangerous microorganisms like Cryptosporidium.

Powerful oxidation provided with AOP frees chlorine up so it can work better in the pool. This in turn reduces the amount of chlorine required to maintain a safe residual level in the pool. A Complete Modern Pool® uses an advanced sanitizer with a residual sanitizer to remain clean, clear and safe.

AOP CREATES REALLY COMFORTABLE POOL WATER

AOP even makes chlorine work better by aggressively breaking down chloramines. Many of the common chlorine complaints (bad smells, itchy skin, etc.) are due to chloramines, not chlorine alone.

Customers can enjoy their swimming pools without irritation and red eyes because AOP will help chlorine work the way it’s supposed to. The more free chlorine there is in the water, the more effective it is at keeping water clean and healthy.

Pool owners want the cleanest, healthiest pool possible and they want it now. Pool professionals want an easy to install system their customers are willing to pay for that works. We give you Next Generation DEL AOP products made by CMP.
